Spanish firm buys Tusenfryd

Spanish amusement park giant Parques Reunidos has bought the TusenFryd entertainment complex in Vinterbro just outside of Oslo.

Parques Reunidos has agreed to buy 90.2 percent of the shares in amusement park TusenFryd for NOK 29 (USD 5.37) per share, giving the park a value of NOK 383 million.

Madrid-based Parques Reunidos is the second largest operator of entertainment parks in Europe, and gained a foothold in Norway last year by buying Bø Sommarland.

"TusenFryd is a first class park that has distinguished itself with high quality, good profitability and a major knack for innovation. Now we look forward to working with the TusenFryd team to develop the park's family-oriented attractions further, and market the park to a wider audience," said Parques Reunidos managing director Richard Golding.

"TusenFryd gets a strong industrial owner that can develop the park further," said TusenFryd managing director Linda Bernander Silseth.
